The Studio

This extensive interior and exterior renovation in the heart of Adelaide features a substantial photographic studio and commercial kitchen. Exterior works included a new entrance portal and a refreshed Tuscan-inspired courtyard garden featuring Urban Stone paving, and a second external entrance.

Internal works include a new commercial kitchen with servery window, a breakout hair and makeup space with floating Caesarstone bench top, a breakout coffee bar, two renovated washrooms and the addition of a third disabled toilet with a curved feature wall and herringbone marble tiles.

Special details in the women’s bathroom include the custom-made wall-hung vanity with Caesarstone top. The studio’s curved video wall was refurbished and painted in digi-green, ideal for digital effect filming. Other notable features in the open studio space include a digital projector and Sonos surround sound speaker system.

At the owner’s request, a custom-made stainless steel mobile breakout table with Heffele caster wheels was hand-crafted by our artisan steel worker. Upstairs, the old gangway platform was replaced with a black steel and glass balustrade. An open plan office, tea point and break-out lounge space make up the mezzanine.

A pivot door shuts off the adjacent upstairs residential apartment, achieved utilising black powder-coated structural steel and bespoke Western red cedar. The project result is an extraordinary multi-purpose creative space packed with high-end, thoughtfully executed features.
